Red Naomi!® and White Naomi!® Among consumers, there is an increasing importance being put on Valentine's Day; each year this day is known to be the time for flowers and especially roses! The 2011 Valentine Period went reasonably well for Dutch rose growers. With the mild weather, most growers in the weeks leading up to Valentine’s Day had more stems cut compared to last year. |

The supply of Red Naomi!® at Aalsmeer in week 6 was 85% higher than the previous year. This was partly due to the new plantations in 2010, but largely due to the fact that growers have cut more stems on the average (Number of Red Naomi!® stems in week 6 at the Aalsmeer auction: 2010: 645,990 2011 in 2011: 1,198,000) |
