Europa Cup Havirov, day 1, Anne Kine O. Pettersson

Anne Kine O. Pettersson: Devorak is a versatile composer and I let myself easily inspired by him. The light tones against the heavy-...Rhythm and contrast in his work.

Task 1: Symphony in Blooms
What can you tell us about your ‘Symphony in Blooms’?

My work has a base of Galera leaves and a metal construction. Inspiration from the music gave me the idea for the movement/ shape - the flowers are light and playful.

‘Symphony in Blooms’
What or who were your sources for inspiration for your ‘Symphony in Blooms’ creation and why?

Dvoƙák is a versatile composer and it was easy to let myself be inspired by him. The light tones against heavier ones... rhythm and contrast in his work.

Task 2: The Youngest City
How can we recognize the youngest city ‘Havirov’ in your arrangement? What effect do the Gerberas add to the creation?

I let myself be inspired by the Pendulum on Republika Square. The arch that forms the base of my table is central in that monument. Gerbera is the dominant flower in my work and very important for the expression of my table.

How can we recognize your style in general? And how is this expressed in this creation?

Most people know me as a florist who uses many details, warm colours, soft organic movements and non-traditional techniques. In this work you can clearly see the organic movement and the warm colour scale. Technically it is also a challenging and high level piece.

The design as such, or at least an important element of it, needs to be innovative. What is the innovative element in your creation?

The innovative part of my work is the design of the table with a built-in water supply that makes it possible to use the gerbera in this way. It is a challenging process to get the flowers to lie exactly in a horizontal position.

Task 3: Bridal Bouquet in the colours of EC 2011-logo.
What can you tell us about your bridal bouquet? Which techniques did you use?

My inspiration came from the peacock. Since the work must be fresh for three days, I  worked a lot on the possibility of supplying water to the flowers that need it, and which flowers can function without water. I  used a mixed technique. The materials are wired,, in oases and glued.

Can you describe the personality of the bride you made this bouquet for?

The bride is tall, dark, tough and non-traditional, but with attention to detail. She is interested in design and her dress is red, slim-fitting and with a wide skirt.

Who are you going to call first in case you win this competition

CNN…. My kids and my Dad who has helped me sooo much!
